Application of SDIC in disinfectant and deodorant

Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC) is a highly effective chlorine disinfectant. It is widely used in various fields because of its broad-spectrum bactericidal, deodorizing, bleaching and other functions. Among them, in deodorants, SDIC plays an important role with its strong oxidation ability and bactericidal effect.

Deodorization principle of sodium dichloroisocyanurate

SDIC can slowly release hypochlorous acid in aqueous solution. Hypochlorous acid is a strong oxidant that can oxidize and decompose organic matter, including hydrogen sulfide and ammonia that produce odor. At the same time, hypochlorous acid can also effectively kill odor-producing bacteria, thereby achieving the effect of deodorization.

SDIC’s deodorization process:

1. Dissolution: SDIC dissolves in water and releases hypochlorous acid.

2. Oxidation: Hypochlorous acid oxidizes and decomposes odor-producing organic matter.

3. Sterilization: Hypochlorous acid kills odor-producing bacteria.

Application of sodium dichloroisocyanurate in deodorants

SDIC is widely used in deodorants, mainly including the following aspects:

Deodorization of living environment: used for deodorization in toilets, kitchens, trash cans and other places.

Industrial deodorization: used for deodorization in sewage treatment, garbage disposal, farms and other places.

Deodorization of public places: used for deodorization in hospitals, schools, public transportation and other places.

Advantages of sodium dichloroisocyanurate deodorant

High-efficiency deodorization: SDIC has strong oxidation ability and bactericidal effect, and can quickly and effectively remove various odors.

Broad-spectrum deodorization: It has good removal effect on various odor substances such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, methyl mercaptan, etc.

Long-lasting deodorization: SDIC can slowly release hypochlorous acid and has a long-lasting disinfection and deodorization effect.

New applications of SDIC deodorant

Dissolving sodium dichloroisocyanurate in water to prepare a certain concentration of aqueous solution and spraying it on the environment is a common disinfection method, but its disadvantage is that sodium dichloroisocyanurate decomposes quickly in the aqueous solution and loses its effect in a short time. When it is used for environmental air disinfection, it can only kill pathogens in a closed space. Therefore, it is required to pay attention to the need to close the doors and windows for a certain period of time after spraying in use to produce better results. However, once the air circulates, new pollution may be formed through air transmission. In order to ensure safety, it is necessary to repeat many times, which is inconvenient and waste of chemicals.

In addition, in the breeding places of poultry and livestock, it is impossible to remove the feces at any time. Therefore, the odor in these places is very troublesome.

To solve this problem, a mixture of SDIC and CaCl2 can be used as a solid deodorant.

Anhydrous calcium chloride slowly absorbs water in the air, and makes the sodium dichloroisocyanurate in the disinfectant gradually dissolve in water and continuously releases disinfection and sterilization capabilities, thereby achieving a slow-release, long-lasting sterilization effect.

 SDIC in disinfectant and deodorant

As a highly efficient chemical with deodorizing and disinfecting effects, sodium dichloroisocyanurate is widely used in life and industry. Its strong oxidizing ability and bactericidal effect make it an important component of deodorants. However, during use, we must also pay attention to its concentration control and protective measures to ensure safe use.

Note: When using any chemical, protective measures should be taken and strictly follow the operating instructions.
